Gdańsk Sketches – Exhibition, Lectures, Stalls
13 years of Urban Sketchers Gdańsk
Over 1000 sketches of Gdańsk, created by more than 100 artists from 20 countries, were gathered at Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk on December 21, 2025. For us, it was a unique opportunity to see the city through the eyes of artists from different cultures and to celebrate 13 years of Urban Sketchers Gdańsk.
Lecture by Kateryna Ocheredko
During the event, Kateryna Ocheredko gave an art lecture:
How to combine urban sketching with animation? How to capture light, shadow, and movement using just two colors?
She talked about how to capture the character of a person, emotions, and movement dynamics in a quick sketch while maintaining her own artistic style. She also shared her experience working on the film “Chłopi”, showing how observing movement and crowds affects the dynamics of a drawing.
Sketch Demo by Tetiana Ocheredko
During the event, Tetiana Ocheredko held a sketch demo, demonstrating how to use ink and brush to give sketches expression, movement, and emotion. She explained how to build light, shadow, and perspective, giving drawings depth and energy.
Our Works and Booth
15 of our works were selected for the exhibition of sketches dedicated to Gdańsk. At our artist booth, we displayed sketches, sketchbooks, postcards, and posters. During the event, we also served as volunteers, which was a valuable and inspiring experience for us.
The event brought together numerous urban sketching enthusiasts, artists, and guests, creating a unique space for sharing experiences and observing the city through the art of urban sketching.
